At the UN headquarters in Windhoek, Ambassador Giacomo Berutto met the new Country Director and Representative of the UN World Food Programme in the Republic of Namibia, Mr. George Fedha, assisted by Ms. Ericah Shafudah, Head of the Partnerships and Resource Mobilization Department.
During the informal conversation, Ambassador Berutto illustrated the activity of the Order of Malta in the world and, in particular, the Embassy’s commitment in Namibia. The Country Director expressed his appreciation for what has been achieved, pointing out that the mission of both the Order and the World Food Programme are similar and complementary. For this reason, Mr. Fedha proposed to the Ambassador a memorandum of understanding, in order to give birth to a cooperation between thw two Institutions to help the local population. Ambassador Berutto, who was accompanied by Fra’ Giovanni Scarabelli, Diego Fiorini and Embassy Secretary Francesca Annese Mouton, described the atmosphere as friendly and stated his will to give effect to a partnership.
