29/11/2023

During his official visit to the Republic of Namibia, Ambassador Giacomo Berutto was received by Father Benni Karu, Secretary General of the Namibian Catholic Bishops’ Conference, at the headquarters of the institution in the suburb of Klein Windhoek. Father Benni Karu granted our Embassy a permanent office inside the see of the Conference: Ambassador Berutto thus took possession of the bureau by placing the flag of the Order in the room, together with an icon of Our Lady of Philermos and a picture of Saint John the Baptist, both donated by Fra’ Giovanni Scarabelli. “The Embassy now has a proper office in a very significant place, because of our positive relations with the local Catholic Church – stated Ambassador Berutto –. After this brief ceremony, Father Benni and I discussed future projects in favour of the local population in need, following Christ’s example and His teaching”.
