Ambassador Berutto presides over the Graduation ceremony at the Embassy’s kindergarten

Ambassador Giacomo Berutto participated in Rundu at the Graduation ceremony which took place last Saturday at the kindergaten the Embassy runs in the town. The nursery was built in 2011 by former Ambassador Marcello Bandettini and wife Lalla, and now hosts 120 boys and girls. It is equipped with every facility and with a soup kitchen that provides meals to the young students. The kindergarten, named after Piergiorgio Ballini, is entrusted to the Benedictine Sisters of Oshikuku: every November, an end-of-year party is held to celebrate those children who have completed their studies. On Saturday, Mass was celebrated by H.E. Fra’ Giovanni Scarabelli and Father Reinhold in the presence of Father Linus Ngenomesho, O.M.I., Apostolic Administrator of Rundu, Sister Othile and Sister Lidwina, superior and deputy of the Congregation, Sister Monika, head of the kindergarten, and teachers Sister Annamaria and Anastasia. Diego Fiorini, counsellor of Ketuko Italia Ets, and Embassy Secretary Francesca Annese Mouton were also present. Boys and girls then were granted a certificate by Ambassador Berutto, who spoke about the importance of education and how the Order of Malta will continue to invest in this fundamental structure. On the occasion, 150 books for children and a projector, donated by Nadia Giugliarelli e Antonio Azzarà in memory of Mrs. Antonietta Taglienti, were given to the nursery.
