At the United Nations headquarters in Windhoek, Ambassador Giacomo Berutto officially signed a memorandum of understanding with the UN World Food Programme in the Republic of Namibia, represented by the Country Director, Mr. George Fedha. “This formal agreement is intended to enhance the cooperation between the Order of Malta and the United Nations World Food Programme in Namibia, in order to work together on the issue of food supply and help local population in need – stated Ambassador Berutto –. This is a historic moment for our Embassy, as these partnerships are not yet so common, and it represents an important step of our commitment in the Country”. During the meeting, Ambassador Berutto also illustrated the activity of the Order of Malta in the world and, in particular, the Embassy’s work in Namibia, and agreed with the Country Director that, since the missions of both institutions are similar and complementary, the future cooperation will surely be fruitful and successful.
